Photo @coryrichards Three elephants gather just after dawn to drink, Okavango Delta, Botswana. Shot on assignment for @natgeo during a 119 day 2400 km human powered scientific transect of the Cuito catchment, one of two main water sources feeding the delta. Much of the catchment in the Angolan highlands was void of wildlife, forced out, poached, and hunted during nearly three decades of civil war. Now, 13 yrs after the conflict ended, the landscape seems lonely...as if it's waiting for its natural partners to find their way home. With time and protection, the highlands could be teeming with wildlife. The science generated from the journey with @intotheokavango and @drsteveboyes aims to provide a catalyst for just that.
