Photograph by @paulnicklen // After waiting weeks to even get a glimpse of wild wolves on the BC coast, we found a pair of female wolves on one of the outer coastal islands. Not only did they accept my presence but can you imagine as a photographer, when these wolves decided to play and chase each other around the beach? At one moment, it appeared that I was being used as a pylon in their game of pursuit. I was using a 600mm lens and this wolf looks much closer in this photo than it actually was. Some of these wolves are comfortable around people which makes them very susceptible to hunting. Any BC resident they can buy a license for 5.00 to shoot these wolves. We need to stop this. To learn a lot more about these unique wolves that live primarily on seafood please #follow me on @paulnicklen.
