Uzma, 4, learns how to write the alphabet at a school in Meerwala, Pakistan. Providing girls with an education helps break the cycle of poverty: educated girls and women are less likely to marry early and against their will; more likely to have healthy pregnancies and babies; and are more likely to send their children to school. Full access to a quality education creates a ripple effect of opportunity that influences generations to come. This image was previously featured on this feed, but I am reposting again because I have just made it available for purchase as part of @tooyoungtowed's week long sale of my hand printed & signed images. This is your chance to own a print by a National Geographic photographer and help girls at the same time! 100% of all proceeds received will support @tooyoungtowed's programming to help girls and end child marriage. MAKE CHANGE WITH US by purchasing a print before the fundraiser ends on Sept. 20th, visit:http://ift.tt/1EYvkXo.
