Photo by @haarbergphoto (Orsolya Haarberg)  Aerial photograph of the abstract forms and unexpected colors on the surface of a string bog in the unspoilt wilderness of Laponia in Sweden. In the string bogs (also called aapa mires), water-filled hollows are separated by narrow ridges that are covered by grasses and scattered woody vegetation. The water has pink, metallic surface due to iron compounds.  See our story about the Laponia World Heritage Site in the current issue of @natgeo magazine. Please follow @haarbergphoto to experience more of Laponia through our images.  #stringbog #aapamire #lapland #laponia #sweden @thephotosociety @natgeocreative by natgeo
