Photograph by @paulnicklen for @natgeo. Water levels sit 40 feet lower than normal in this water reservoir in Washington State. Normally, water laps up against this walkway. No snow pack build up in the winter, no rain during the summer, increase in jellyfish populations, anoxic marine events, starfish die-offs and record setting forest fires have made for an unforgettable summer in Washington State. Do you think this is an isolated event or is it a sign of the future? To learn a lot more about a story we are doing on the effects of warm ocean water on the Western coast of Canada and USA, please #follow me on @paulnicklen.
