Edge-on spiral galaxy NGC 4302 (L) and its neighbor, flocculent spiral galaxy NGC 4298 (R). The pair are a mere 36,000 light-years from each other, and are also connected by a tidal bridge of gas, dust, and stars due to ram pressure. They will eventually merge together.
